- Civil Procedure: Examples & Explanations by Joseph W. Glannon. A must have. Seriously. If law school is Hogwarts, then Civil Procedure (a.k.a. Civ Pro) is the "how to use your wand" class. Civ Pro is required at EVERY law school. It teaches you how to navigate our beautiful architecture of a legal system. I have witnessed one too many instances, whereupon a lawyer would beat out her opposing counsel, not by coming up with the better argument, but by taking advantage of her superior technical knowledge of the court rules and procedures.
